CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF GIVES DEADLINE TO CAPTURE ABUBAKAR SHEKAU
On Friday 21st July 2017, the Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, directed the Theatre Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, to capture Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram terrorists group, dead or alive.
It could be recalled that on several occasion, the king ping of boko haram was claimed to have been killed only to have turned to a cat with nine lives.
The time frame of 40 days has been given to operation lafiya dole to get the job done, and put an end to the menace of boko haram since 2009. The Nigeria army has recorded drastic victory in their fight recently against book haram, though there are still persistent attack of the group.
Every tool at the the disposal of the commander was asked to be used within this time frame, in order for the mission to be accomplished.
The General also plead with the General public, requesting for assistance and volunteer information that could lead to the accomplishment of this task.
Would this operation, finally saw Nigeria victorious over shekau?
